The Plaza Real of Barcelona

The Plaza Real of Barcelona (Plaça Reial in Catalan) is a public square adjacent to La Rambla and is located in the Gothic Quarter of the City.

Barcellona_plaza_real informationThe site is frequented at night because there are bars around and places to dance and listen to music, such as the traditional “La Pipa.”

In the square there are the Three Graces with two Fanals (lamps), designed by Antoni Gaudi and the perimeter of the square is adorned with royal palms.

The Royal Plaza has been twinned with the Plaza Garibaldi in Mexico City since 1977 and has held the music festival Mariachi, like in Mexico.
